In accordance with the applicable law, all personal data of hotel guests using accommodation services in Hungary, as defined by law, are From 1 September 2021, it is mandatory to be recorded in the accommodation management software via the document scanner provided by the accommodation provider, and then transferred to the Closed Information Database for Guests (VIZA) (storage). Encrypted transmission of scanned data is only possible via approved accommodation management software. Data that cannot be read by the document scanner or is read incorrectly will be recorded by the accommodation provider in the accommodation management software by manual data entry. The VIZA system only accepts data packets from the accommodation provider encrypted with personal data encryption keys as defined by law. No data not contained in the document shall be recorded.

In specific cases, the purpose of the processing may be modified in the contracts, subject to the conditions set out in the contract.

This notice provides you with important information about the protection of your personal data and your rights. If you do not accept these terms and conditions, you have the right to suspend your use of the website and to stop browsing without providing any personal data.

Data processors

The Data Manager (in case of a request by a guest) may use a postal service provider, whereby the name, delivery address, e-mail address and telephone number of the guest (in order to arrange the delivery date) will be provided to Magyar Posta Zrt., the delivery service provider, for the purpose of delivering the product (e.g. gift voucher) requested by the guest to the guest.

The accommodation provider is the data controller of the guest's personal data when recording and transmitting data to VIZA.

The HUNGARIAN TOURISM AGENCY ZRT. (MTÜ) is the data processor of the accommodation provider.

The guest accepts, in accordance with this consent, the payment of the Magyar Posta Zrt. General Terms and Conditions.

The guest using the accommodation service must present his/her ID card, driving licence or travel document to the accommodation provider in order to record the above personal data. Failure to present this document will result in the accommodation provider refusing to provide the accommodation. The law authorises the accommodation provider to ask for the guest's identity document, which the guest is obliged to show.

In Hungary, all citizens, regardless of age, including newborns, are required to have proof of their identity (identity card, passport, driving licence). There is no derogation from the obligation to provide information, whether on the grounds of age, relationship or any other reason.
